Reflections by Jocelyne Brown Reflections by Jocelyne Brown Reflections by Jocelyne Brown

Jocelyne BrownI was born on September 27, 1975 at home. In fact, my mother’s labor was so short that my dad was forced to deliver me. As a child, I was always fascinated with the story of how my life’s adventure began.

It seems as if from that day forward, people and their life’s adventures have always intrigued me. Listening to their stories has sparked my enthusiasm for creating a way to cement those moments in time.

On my 12th birthday, my parents presented me with my very first camera. From that moment on, I discovered a new way of looking at people, places, and the fascinating circumstances that surround them, just by looking through the eye of a viewfinder.

Photography became my true hobby during my Junior High years when I learned how to develop my very first black and white photograph. That experience peaked my interest to photograph moments and events for the High School yearbook. Years later, I couldn’t resist taking the candid pictures for the weddings of my friends and family.

In June 2000, I graduated with Honors in Photography from Red River Community College. I have been photographing weddings for 8 years and loving every moment of it! I enjoy meeting new people and I want my photographs to capture the fun and excitement of the day! To me, the creativity in photography is paramount, for the simple touch of a button can capture a lifetime of emotion and memories.

Photography has allowed me to travel to places such as Portugal, England, and Mexico and capture history to bring home and share with my family and friends. It’s allowed me to meet new people and listen to their stories. But most of all, it has opened up the door to an exciting life of immortalizing nature, fun, and people!
